EDC Inc Server Image Development and Management Policy
This policy outlines the guidelines and procedures for the development, management, and deployment of server images at EDC Inc. It is designed to ensure the integrity, security, and efficiency of our server infrastructure.
1. Policy Scope
This policy applies to all servers owned and operated by EDC Inc, including but not limited to production, development, and testing servers. It covers all aspects of server image development, management, and deployment, including but not limited to image creation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
2. Policy Objectives
The objectives of this policy are to:
- Ensure the integrity and security of server images
- Ensure the efficient and effective deployment of server images
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Minimize the risk of server downtime and data loss
3. Server Image Development
The IT Server Build Operations department is responsible for the development of server images. All server images must be developed in accordance with the following guidelines:
- All server images must be developed in a secure, controlled environment
- All server images must be tested thoroughly before deployment
- All server images must be approved by the IT Security Operations department before deployment
4. Server Image Management
The IT Server Operations department is responsible for the management of server images. All server images must be managed in accordance with the following guidelines:
- All server images must be stored securely in the CMDB
- All changes to server images must be approved by the CAB
- All server images must be patched every 30 days, unless an IT Exception is approved by IT Security
5. Server Image Deployment
The IT Server Operations department is responsible for the deployment of server images. All server images must be deployed in accordance with the following guidelines:
- All server images must be deployed using secure, approved methods
- All server images must be monitored by the IT Monitoring Operations department after deployment
- All server images must be backed up by the IT Database Operations department after deployment
6. Compliance
The IT Audit and Compliance department is responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy. All departments and individuals involved in the development, management, and deployment of server images must comply with this policy. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
7. Policy Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed annually by the IT Audit and Compliance department. Any updates or changes to this policy will be approved by the CAB and communicated to all relevant departments and individuals.
8. Contact Information
For any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please contact the IT Director or Manager of the relevant department.

It is designed to ensure the integrity, security, and efficiency of our server infrastructure, and to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
