EDC Inc IT Asset Management Policy

This policy outlines the procedures and responsibilities for managing IT assets within EDC Inc. The policy is designed to ensure that all IT assets are accounted for, used appropriately, and properly maintained.

Scope

This policy applies to all EDC Inc employees, contractors, and third-party service providers who have access to IT assets owned, leased, or otherwise used by EDC Inc.

EDC Inc is committed to managing its IT assets in a systematic and cost-effective manner. This includes the acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of assets in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Asset Inventory

All IT assets must be recorded in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The IT Server Build Operations department is responsible for ensuring that all new assets are added to the CMDB upon acquisition and that the database is updated whenever an asset is moved, changed, or disposed of.

All IT assets must be used in accordance with EDC Inc’s Acceptable Use Policy. Unauthorized use of IT assets is strictly prohibited. The IT Security Operations department is responsible for monitoring asset usage and investigating any suspected violations of this policy.

Asset Maintenance

All IT assets must be maintained in good working order. The IT Server Operations department is responsible for performing regular maintenance on all servers, including OS patching every 30 days. Any exceptions to this requirement must be approved by IT Security.
