EDC Inc Default Agent Installation and Management Policy

This policy outlines the procedures and guidelines for the installation and management of default agents within EDC Inc’s IT infrastructure. It is designed to ensure the security, integrity, and efficient operation of our systems.

Scope

This policy applies to all EDC Inc employees, contractors, and third-party service providers who are responsible for the installation and management of default agents on EDC Inc’s IT systems.

Policy

Installation of Default Agents

All default agents must be installed by authorized personnel from the IT Server Build Operations department. The installation process must adhere to the following guidelines:

• All installations must be recorded in the CMDB inventory management tool.
• Installation must be performed using service accounts in Active Directory.
• Any changes to the default agent installation process must be approved by the CAB.

Management of Default Agents

The management of default agents is the responsibility of the IT Server Operations department. The management process must adhere to the following guidelines:

• All default agents must be patched every 30 days by IT Server Operations, unless an IT Exception is approved by IT Security.
• Any changes to the default agent management process must be approved by the CAB.
• All management activities must be recorded in the CMDB inventory management tool.

Roles and Responsibilities

IT Server Build Operations

The IT Server Build Operations department is responsible for the installation of default agents. The IT Director and Managers of this department must ensure that all installations are performed according to this policy.

IT Server Operations

The IT Server Operations department is responsible for the management of default agents, including regular patching. The IT Director and Managers of this department must ensure that all management activities are performed according to this policy.

IT Security

The IT Security department is responsible for approving any IT Exceptions to the regular patching schedule. The IT Director and Managers of this department must ensure that all exceptions are justified and do not compromise the security of EDC Inc’s IT systems.

IT Audit and Compliance

The IT Audit and Compliance department is responsible for ensuring that this policy is adhered to. The IT Director and Managers of this department must conduct regular audits and report any non-compliance to the relevant departments and the CAB.

Enforcement

Any violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Any suspected violation should be reported immediately to the IT-SOC.

Review and Update

This policy will be reviewed and updated annually by the IT Audit and Compliance department, or as needed in response to significant changes in EDC Inc’s IT infrastructure or business requirements.
