Scope
This policy applies to all EDC Inc employees, contractors, and any other individuals who use their personal devices to access EDC Inc’s resources.

- Users must register their personal devices with IT Server Operations before they can be used for work-related activities.
- Users must ensure that their personal devices are protected by up-to-date antivirus software and that the operating system and all applications are regularly patched and updated.
- Users must not store any sensitive or confidential EDC Inc data on their personal devices unless it is necessary for their work. In such cases, the data must be encrypted and password-protected.
- Users must immediately report any lost or stolen device that has been used for work-related activities to IT-SOC (Incident management).
- Users must not use their personal devices to bypass EDC Inc’s security controls or to access resources for which they do not have authorization.
Responsibilities
- IT Server Operations is responsible for registering personal devices and for providing support for any technical issues that arise in relation to the use of personal devices for work-related activities.
- IT Security Operations is responsible for ensuring that personal devices are compliant with EDC Inc’s security policies and for investigating any security incidents involving personal devices.
- IT Audit and Compliance is responsible for conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with this policy.
- Corporate Physical Security is responsible for investigating any physical security incidents involving personal devices.
Enforcement
Any employee found to have violated this policy may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. In addition, EDC Inc may seek legal remedies for any damages caused by the violation of this policy.
Exceptions
Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by IT Security. Requests for exceptions should be submitted to the IT Director of the relevant department.
Review and Update
This policy will be reviewed and updated annually by IT Audit and Compliance. Any changes to the policy will be communicated to all employees.
