EDC Inc Cross-Platform Compatibility Policy for Server Images
This policy outlines the standards and procedures for ensuring cross-platform compatibility of server images at EDC Inc. It is designed to provide a framework for maintaining consistency, reliability, and security across all server platforms.
1.0 Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all server images at EDC Inc are compatible across different platforms. This is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our IT infrastructure and ensuring seamless operations across the organization.
2.0 Scope
This policy applies to all server images managed by EDC Inc, including those in the IT Server Operations, IT Server Build Operations, IT-SOC, Corporate Physical Security, IT Security Operations, IT Monitoring Operations, IT Database Operations, and IT Audit and Compliance departments.
3.0 Policy
3.1 Server Image Compatibility
All server images must be compatible with the platforms used by EDC Inc. This includes, but is not limited to, platforms managed by Active Directory and CMDB. The IT Server Operations department is responsible for ensuring this compatibility.
3.2 Server Image Updates and Patching
All server images must be patched every 30 days, unless an “IT Exception” is approved by IT Security. The IT Server Operations department is responsible for managing OS patching.
3.3 Server Image Inventory Management
All server images must be recorded in the CMDB inventory management tool. The IT Server Build Operations department is responsible for maintaining this inventory.
3.4 Change Management
Any changes to server images must be approved by the CAB. The IT Audit and Compliance department is responsible for coordinating this approval process.
3.5 Incident Management
In the event of an incident related to server images, the IT-SOC department is responsible for managing the incident response.
4.0 Enforcement
Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. The IT Security Operations department is responsible for enforcing this policy.
5.0 Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually by the IT Directors and Managers of each department. Any proposed changes must be approved by the CAB.
