EDC Inc Server Network Connectivity and Configuration Policy
This policy outlines the standards and procedures for managing server network connectivity and configuration at EDC Inc. It is designed to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of our server infrastructure.
Scope
This policy applies to all EDC Inc employees, contractors, and third-party service providers who manage, operate, or access EDC Inc’s server infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, IT Server Operations, IT Server Build Operations, IT-SOC, Corporate Physical Security, IT Security Operations, IT Monitoring Operations, IT Database Operations, and IT Audit and Compliance.
Policy
Server Configuration
All servers must be configured according to the standards set by IT Server Build Operations. This includes the use of Active Directory for user and service accounts, and CMDB as the inventory management tool.
- All servers must be registered in the CMDB with accurate and up-to-date information.
- Any changes to server configuration must be approved by the Change Audit Board (CAB).
- Unauthorized changes to server configuration are strictly prohibited.
Server Network Connectivity
IT Server Operations is responsible for managing server network connectivity. This includes ensuring that all servers are properly connected to the network and that network performance is monitored and optimized.
- All servers must be connected to the network in a secure and controlled manner.
- Any changes to server network connectivity must be approved by the CAB.
- Unauthorized changes to server network connectivity are strictly prohibited.
Server Patching
IT Server Operations is responsible for patching servers every 30 days. Exceptions to this rule must be approved by IT Security.
- All servers must be patched in a timely and controlled manner to ensure the security and integrity of the server infrastructure.
- Any exceptions to the patching schedule must be documented and approved by IT Security.
Enforcement
Any employee found to have violated this policy may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Contractors and third-party service providers who violate this policy may have their contracts with EDC Inc terminated.
